So apparently I’ve had a broken bone in my foot for several years? One of the things about people dismissing your pain is you start to dismiss it too. Anyway, it hurts and I need yet another surgery. Longer thinky thoughts post coming but I’d been saving this guy until I had five and an absolute banger showed up.

The supreme cut from them all running away to the dragon being chased. The tiny little younger sibling trying to participate. Why isn’t there a “Game of Thrones: Babies” spinoff? Gold. Gold!!
David Tennant Special Recognition Award
I know we shouldn’t idealize celebrities!!!!! I am not idealizing him!!! I am simply saying that this clip of David Tennant getting a special recognition award from the British Television Academy or whoever is A DELIGHT. First, WHAT A CAREER. So many heroes and villains and Shakespeare and Doctor Who and courtroom dramas and detectives and murderers. Second, he probably tried to do film at some point, but bless him for being a Television Star. Third, Catherine Tate! A queen. Also, his sweet dad. I watch this when I need a smile sorry not sorry.

School lunch
One of the four things I know how to make is a perfectly recreated school lunch taco circa California in the 1970s, and people do not seem to appreciate this skill. However, we should all appreciate the small steps toward decency and wellbeing that occasionally happen, and in the past year these states have begun providing breakfast and lunch to all students: California, Colorado, Maine, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, and Vermont. Other states have proposed legislation to do the same. It’s not all good—I think Texas recently ended their school meals program—and it’s weird to have to be like “Yay! Feeding children!” but here we are. This page from the NYC Food Policy website gives a good rundown of where various states are, if you want to get involved. It also notes that the Universal School Meals Program Act of 2021 remains stalled in the House.

Absolutely the most supreme piece of cinema that has ever been created. Imagine being the person who captured this exquisite narrative!!!!!!!!!! The deer running, the confusion and suspense building, the shouting, and then Fenton himself entering the frame with the comic timing only a dog on a mission can have. The deer running across the road, the traffic piling up. Perfection.
The cinematographer was only 13 years old! Imagine trying to live a normal life after that. I know this video is over ten years old, it JUST GETS BETTER.
